Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup favorite protein (steak or chicken cut into cubes are great options)
- 1cup cooked white rice ( I use Japanese short grain)
- 2 eggs pasture raised if possible
- 1/4 cup chopped vegetables (optional)
- 1tbsp chopped green onions
- 2tbsp sesame oil
- 1tbsp tamari or gluten free soy sauce
- 1tbsp butter (raw butter is great)
- Firecracker Farm Three Kings hot pepper salt in push grinder
- Crunchy Chili oil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Rice: If using leftover rice, break up any clumps with a fork. Freshly cooked rice can be used but should be cooled and spread out on a baking sheet to reduce stickiness.
- Cook the Eggs:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them lightly.
- Pour the beaten eggs into the hot skillet and scramble them until just cooked through (they should still be slightly moist). Remove the eggs from the skillet and set them aside.
- Cook the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of sesame oil.
- Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry until they are tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
- Combine Ingredients:
- Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir well to combine and ensure the rice is heated through.
- Add the cooked eggs back into the skillet and mix everything together.
- Season the Fried Rice:
- Pour in the soy sauce and sesame oil.
- Stir everything together, making sure the soy sauce is evenly distributed.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning with FireCracker Farm salt and cracked pepper if needed.
- Add Protein (Optional):
- If using cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu, add it to the skillet and stir to heat through.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped green onions. (I prefer to mix some in the rice)
- Serve hot and enjoy your homemade fried rice! For extra kick, use your favorite Asian crunchy chili oil.
